LG Artcool and Daikin Stylish are the designer wall indoors people compare when the unit will be seen. Artcool is LG's premium fascia family, including mirror-front models. Stylish is Daikin's slim architectural wall unit. At the same nominal cooling kW they are not more powerful than a plainer Sensira or standard LG wall. Survey the room, then pay for the look if the outdoor position already works. Both still need an F-gas install.
Mirror fronts and a slim Daikin body
Artcool is about the indoor people look at: mirror and other designer fronts, with a gallery-style option in the wider family. Stylish is about a slimmer Daikin body and finish choices. Controls differ. LG residential units commonly sit on ThinQ. Current Daikin residential controls sit in Daikin's own app. Neither fascia changes the heat the room gains through the glass.
A survey comes before the finish meeting. If the load needs 5 kW, a prettier 2.5 kW indoor fails in the same way a white one does. Read the capacity off the quote, not off the showroom photograph. Power is the matched kW. Artcool is not more powerful than Stylish as a rule. Compare identical nominal cooling capacity. The premium on both is looks and features.
Same cooling kW, same outdoor wall, same drain. Do not pair an LG indoor with a Daikin outdoor. Energy Saving Trust treats this class of machine as an air-to-air heat pump when it also heats. Ask for the energy label and sound data on the exact indoor and outdoor pair you are being sold. Do not invent a winner from a SEER printed for a different size.
Who services a fascia you bought for the look
Daikin's UK domestic network is broader. LG is a credible wall-split brand, and a firm that fits Artcool every week is a fair choice. Fewer companies carry LG as their main line, so quotes can be thinner outside cities, and the warranty follows that installer's scheme. Artcool needs an LG supply path and someone who will register that warranty. A Daikin installer is not automatically that person. GOV.UK F-gas certification is still required for the refrigerant work.
Ask who registers the warranty and how filter cleaning works on a mirror front versus a Stylish fascia. A beautiful indoor with no local parts path is a weak living-room plan. In a UK bedroom, Artcool is worth it when the indoor is on show and the night sound data for that code is acceptable. If sleep sound is the whole decision, also ask for a quiet conventional indoor such as Mitsubishi AY at the same kW. The mirror does not silence the outdoor unit.
As a 2026 illustration, both designer singles still land in the same broad installed band as other quality wall splits, high hundreds to a few thousand pounds including VAT on a straightforward house, with a clear equipment premium over a plain wall unit of the same kW. Labour, pumps and access move both invoices together. Decide the wall, the kW and whether you also want heating. Then choose Artcool or Stylish as appearance, app and who will service it. A spare room rarely justifies either if Sensira or a standard LG wall meets the load. A photo of the wall the indoor will sit on is what keeps both prices on one cooling kW.
